An outstanding warrant has been issued for a 27-year-old Meshoppen man who allegedly raped a woman in her home on Saturday.

Meshoppen Police Chief John Krieg said that Duarte Nery Perez, also known as Nery Adolfo Perez Duarte, who lives on Allen Street, has been charged with rape, sexual assault, two counts of aggravated indecent assault, two counts of indecent assault, aggravated assault and simple assault.

According to a criminal complaint, Perez called a friend of the victim shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday and told her she needed to get help for the victim because he did something very stupid and the victim needed to get to a hospital.

When the friend arrived on the scene, she found the victim with a black eye, bloody mouth and broken leg.

The victim told the friend that she had been punched, beat up, raped, and thrown down the stairs before the wanted man drug her back upstairs by her hair.

According to the complaint, the victim told police she had been out to a bar earlier with Perez.

When she got home he was waiting for her and the alleged attacks followed. The complaint states that the victim believes the leg was broken when she was thrown down the steps.

According to chief Krieg's report, x-rays showed both tibia and fibula bones to have complete breaks in them.

Krieg said that the victim was taken to Tyler Memorial Hospital where she was treated. She was later transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital  but Krieg said he has no update on her condition.

Chief Krieg said he believes Perez has fled the area, and he is asking the public for any information that might lead to his arrest. They may call 836-6161 or their local police.

Charges were filed before magisterial district judge John Hovan.
