BREAKING NEWS: Horlacher in eastern U.S. Tourney schedule change

The schedule for Bob Horlacher’s state champion 9-10 girls’ softball team in the Eastern U.S. Regional Tournament at Old Forge has changed because of one state’s team dropping out of the contest.

Horlacher, originally set to open on Sunday, will now play its first game on Saturday at 8 p.m. against New York’s representative.

The team will then play on Sunday night at 8 p.m. against Maryland, and then conclude preliminary play with a game against Rhode Island on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

A rain date is set for Tuesday, July 31, followed by semifinals on Wednesday, Aug. 1, with games at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The championship game will be played on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the conclusion of the 4 p.m. consolation game.

All games will be played at Old Forge’s Miles Street Park Complex on Maxson Drive in Old Forge.
