BREAKING NEWS: Male sought in store robbery

WASHINGTON TWP. – Meshoppen Police are investigating a convenience store robbery that occurred just before 10 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 29).

Police say that at 9:50 p.m., a white male 18 to 22 years of age wearing a gray hoody, black ski mask, black pants, and white sneakers entered the Penmart just off Rt. 6 at Russell Hill, and looked behind the counter.

The male left and then re-entered the store wearing the ski mask, jumped over the counter and grabbed a money box.

According to police. The suspect then jumped back over the counter and ran out the door.

A female clerk chased the male into a field.

The male then turned and ran to a church parking lot were a female driving a tan Buick drove in at a high rate of speed and the male jumped in and they sped off with an undetermined amount of money.
